Author Guidelines
Please prepare your scientific article manuscript before submitting it to this journal, according to the following guidelines and templates IJESSR to download templates. Manuscripts to be published to IJESSR must be original, unpublished and not in the process of being published.
IJESSR is a peer-reviewed journal. The theme of article review for this Journal, includes the results of research, thoughts and scientific studies in the fields of Economics and Social Sciences.
Article files must be provided in Microsoft Word format . Manuscripts must be between 4-14 pages including references. A maximum of 2 pages is allowed for attachments if needed.
The manuscript is typed on A4 single-column paper, with the provisions: Cambria font style, size 11 pts, with 1 space size, top margin size of 2 cm, bottom margin of 2 cm, left and right margins of 2 cm, in the form of Microsoft Word and PDF files.
Article organization must be organized (at least) into the IMRaD structure as follows:
- Introduction, contains a clear background, a clear statement of the problem, literature relevant to the subject, proposed approaches or solutions, and the value of new research which is an innovation (in 3-6 paragraphs). This should be understood by colleagues from various disciplines. The background describes the importance of this research. Then relate it to current issues, including reviewing relevant previous research. Meanwhile, the problem or formulation of the problem is explained by showing existing phenomena and must be related to the realm of science, so that a gap is drawn between the phenomenon and the existing theory. It is not recommended to convey these problems in the form of a research question sentence but in the form of a research statement sentence. The research objectives are stated clearly, concisely, and are points that will be answered by this research. In addition, novelty research can be presented here.
- Research Methods, explaining clearly about including research design, research procedures (in the form of algorithms, pseudocode or other), methods of testing and data acquisition. The method contains a rational, empirical, and systematic explanation of the research approach used. In addition, the presentation of a method or model will require reference to the literature if it has been published before. Explanation includes at least: types and sources of data and analysis methods used (including analytical tools). The description of the course of research must be supported by references, so that the explanation can be accepted scientifically. The types and sources of data are explained in detail, so that readers can know well about this type of research and all the research data used. In the method of analysis, a description of the procedure or approach is conveyed, including the determination of parameters or variables, methods of data collection, and methods of processing and analyzing data. The description may also include a certain mathematical formula or formula, so that the numerical results can be validated. For formulas or formulas and ingredients that have been standardized, there is no need to re-explain, it is enough to include the reference source, unless modified. Explanation of the method is presented in detail, so that the research method used can be repeated by other researchers.
- Results and Discussion, explaining the results of the research as well as a comprehensive discussion. Results can be presented in the form of pictures, graphs, tables and others that make it easier for readers to understand them. The discussion can be done in several subchapters. Research is an effort to disseminate science, technology, and art to society. Research activities are intended so that data can be found, developed, and proven. The results of the research will obtain a new knowledge, so that it can be used to understand, solve, and anticipate problems. In this section, describe how the activities are carried out to achieve the goal. Explain the indicators of achieving the objectives and the benchmarks used to state the success of the research activities that have been carried out. Articles can be strengthened with relevant documentation related to services or goods as outputs, or the main focus of activities. Documentation can be in the form of pictures of the implementation or implementation process, pictures of product prototypes , tables, graphs, and so on.
- Conclusion , is the final part of a scientific paper obtained from the essence of the results and discussion (analysis) section of the phenomenon being studied. The contents of the conclusion are not rewriting the results and discussion sections or also not summarizing, but conveying briefly answers to the objectives or research questions that have been previously proposed. Conclusions must be written in full, clear, and concise sentence form. Specific conclusions come from the analysis, while general conclusions are the results of generalizations or links with similar phenomena in other areas referred to from previous publications. In this case, the consistency triangle includes problems, goals, conclusions that must be considered as an effort to check and recheck when writing a conclusion. In addition to conclusions, suggestions are needed in the form of academic recommendations, concrete follow-ups, or policy implications for the conclusions obtained. As with conclusions, the section on suggestions in the form of recommendations must also be conveyed clearly and concisely.
The maximum permitted article title is 12 (twelve) words.
All contributing Author names must be added, and their names arranged in the correct order for publication. Correct email addresses must be provided for each author. Each author's full name must be in the exact same format as shown for publication, including or excluding middle name or initials as required. The affiliation of each contributing author must be correct in the respective author's name.
Manuscripts are arranged in order of titles (capital letters) in Indonesian and English, author's name without title and affiliation and author's email correspondence, abstract and keywords, introduction, research method, results and discussion, conclusions and suggestions, as well as a list of references. Sub-sections can be added as needed. Writing systematics does not require numbering for each chapter.
Authors who wish to include these items must save them together in a Microsoft Word file to upload with the submission. If they wish to be included, a short professional biography of up to 100 words must be provided for each author named.
Authors must state all sources of external research funding in their article and statements about this effect must appear in the acknowledgments section.
The author must provide a structured abstract in one space consisting of problems, objectives, methods/designs/approaches, findings/results, research limitations/implications, practical implications, social implications, originality/values and conclusions. After the abstract, the keywords must be written. according to the research topic, a maximum of 250 words excluding keywords.
The author must provide precise and short keywords that summarize the main topic of the article. The maximum number of keywords is 5 (five) words.
Authors must categorize their articles as part of the article information. The category that best describes their article should be selected from the list below.
- Research Paper (research articles). This category includes articles that report all types of research conducted by the author. Research may involve the construction or testing of models or frameworks, action research, data testing, market or survey research, empirical, scientific or laboratory research.
- Technical Paper (technical articles). This category describes and evaluates products, processes or technical services.
- Conceptual Paper(conceptual article). This article will not be based on research but will develop hypotheses. These articles are likely to be discursive in nature and will include philosophical discussions and comparative studies of the work and thought of others.
- Case Study (case study). Case studies describe actual interventions or experiences in organizations. They may be subjective and generally will not report on research. Explanations of legal cases or hypothetical case studies used as teaching exercises would also fall into this category.
- Literature Review (literature review). It is desirable that all types of articles cite relevant literature, so this category should only be used if the main purpose of the article is to explain and/or critique the literature in a particular subject area. It may be a selective bibliography providing advice on sources of information or it may be comprehensive as the aim of the article is to cover contributors. main development of a topic and explore their different views.
- General Reviews (general review). This category includes articles that provide an overview or historical examination of a concept, technique or phenomenon. These articles tend to be more descriptive or instructional than
- All drawings (charts, diagrams, line drawings, web pages/screenshots, and photo images) must be submitted in electronic form. All images must be of high quality, legible and numbered sequentially with Arabic numerals. Graphs can be rendered in color to facilitate their appearance in online Images created in Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel must be included in their original format. Electronic drawings created in other applications, must be copied from origination software and pasted into a Microsoft Word template document. Photographic images must be inserted in the main body of the article and must be of high quality and numbered with Arabic numerals and given a description if necessary.
- Tables must be typed and included in the main body of the article. Table positions should be entered in the text as close to the reference point as possible. Ensure that superscripts or asterisks appear next to relevant items and related explanations appear as footnotes on tables, figures or plates. All tables must be given a title in the text and numbered with Arabic numerals and annotated if necessary.
- An author wishing to submit a paper article to IJESSR must email it to the web. All correspondence, including notices of the Editor in Chief's decisions and requests for revisions, is conducted electronically.
- Revised manuscript. Authors must revise the manuscript at least 1 month after receiving it from the IJESSR management team (first edited paper). Papers sent back to the management team after one month are considered as new submissions, and are numbered with Arabic numerals and annotated where necessary.
- IJESSR prioritizes articles that refer to journal articles, research reports, and conference proceedings, rather than relying heavily on textbooks or handbooks to demonstrate the novelty of articles in the subject matter covered. The use of the Mendeley App or other reference organizing app as a reference tool is recommended. References should be carefully checked for completeness, accuracy and consistency.
- General information on writing a bibliography with reference to the IEEE style , as follows:
- The list of entries must match exactly the same numerical order as the text.
- The first name of the author is written in initials and the last name is written in full.
- The first letter in the first word of an article or chapter title is written in capital, while for book titles it is written in capital letters at the beginning of each word.
- Article titles or chapter titles are in quotation marks, while book, journal and website titles are italicized.
The following is the format for writing citations and examples of writing a bibliography using the IEEE style: [1]
