This study aims to analyze the factors affecting shallot production in Sengon Village, Brebes Regency. Shallots are included in horticultural crops and are one of the superior vegetable commodities. Shallots are an important part that cannot be separated from everyday life. The largest supplier of shallots in Central Java is Brebes. Sengon Village, is one of the shallot centers in Brebes Regency. This research uses qualitative methods with a single case study approach. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with onion farmers, agricultural observers, and village government representatives. This research revealed that shallot farmers in Sengon Village have considerable experience in shallot cultivation, but still need assistance in the use of superior seeds and better land management. Erratic weather and pest and disease attacks are the most influential external factors in onion production. In addition, fluctuating shallot prices and limited access to markets are also important factors in influencing shallot production in Sengon Village. The results showed that the factors affecting shallot production in Sengon Village were internal and external factors. Internal factors include farmers' experience in onion cultivation, the use of superior seeds, and good land management. While external factors include weather, pest and disease attacks, the price of shallots in the market, and access to the market. Efforts can be made by taking into account environmental aspects, technical cultivation, economy, social factors and government policies, human resources and production factors.
