Abstract

This study aims to determine the type of road damage, the factors causing the damage and how to handle it. The Klampok - PG Banjaratma highway is part of the district road in the Brebes Regency area which is very important for use by the community. This road is interconnected between villages in the area of two sub-districts, namely Wanasari District and Bulakamba District. This research is located on the Klampok - PG Banjaratma section which is a Regency road with the Bina Marga method obtained from visual surveys, namely the type of damage and average daily surveys. The type of damage that occurred on the Klampok Regency - PG Banjaratma road was cracks, one of the causes of road cracks was the poor road drainage system that could not dispose of water directly into the drainage channel. For this reason, every road must have drainage as a supporting factor for road completeness to prevent rapid road damage. Second, collapse, the cause is due to weak basic soil factors or less than optimal compaction, so it can cause the road to collapse or bumpy. Handling by trimming bumpy asphalt roads, then compacted again and then adding a layer of asphalt from the base according to the needs of damage in the field. Third, potholes, occur when road cracks are left without repair immediately, so that stagnant water in the crack section for a long time will seep into and result in the fragility of the road layer, If initially small is left continuously, eventually forming a large hole that can endanger road users
