Abstract

Traffic volume has a significant role in triggering road damage. Rigid pavement is usually applied on roads with high traffic levels. With the increase in the number of vehicles, the risk of road damage in a relatively short period of time is increasing. This study aims to reveal the effect of vehicle type volume on road damage rate, as well as explain the relationship between vehicle type volume and road damage rate on rigid pavement. It aims to predict road damage early. This study used methods of analyzing vehicle volume and road damage levels using regression to determine the pattern of the relationship. The R² value (coefficient of determination) is used to measure the extent to which variations in the volume of vehicle types affect variations in the degree of road damage. This research was conducted on two roads, namely the Jatibarang - Brebes road section. The results showed a correlation between the volume of vehicle types and the level of road damage. An R² value of 0.640 indicates that about 64% of the variation in the degree of road damage can be explained by variations in the volume of vehicle types, especially light vehicles and heavy vehicles. Through the following regression equation: Y = 0.033X1 + 1.023X2 + 36.264. From this equation it can be said that the value of the regression coefficient X1 (a) = 0.024, meaning that a light vehicle of 100 kend / day will increase the level of road damage by 3.3, the value of the regression coefficient X2 (b) = 1.023, meaning that a heavy vehicle of 100 kend / day will increase the level of road damage by 10.23, with a condition (c) = if there are no vehicles passing a section of road,  Then the road will suffer road damage of 36,264.
