Sedimentation in irrigation channels often causes problems in the form of reduced water flow capacity, which affects the effectiveness of irrigation distribution. This condition also occurs in the Malahayu Jengkelok secondary channel in Banjarharjo District, Brebes Regency, which experiences sediment deposits and vegetation growth along the channel. This study aims to analyze the relationship between flow discharge and sediment discharge to determine the influence of water flow on sediment transport capacity. The research method was conducted through field surveys, measurement of sediment concentration, and data analysis using simple linear regression. Sediment concentration ranged from 0.061775 gr/lt to 0.263535 gr/lt, while sediment discharge varied between 0.0067 tons/day and 1.6833 tons/day. Regression analysis produced the equation Qs = 0.01368Q + 0.26975, indicating a positive linear relationship in which every increase of 1 m³/s in flow discharge increases sediment discharge by 0.01368 tons/day. These findings reinforce sediment transport theory and confirm that flow discharge is the dominant factor in determining the amount of solid material carried. This study emphasizes the importance of sediment management through periodic dredging and channel maintenance to ensure sustainable irrigation water distribution.
