Abstract

Soursop leaves are the part of the soursop plant that is most often used as medicine. Soursop plants contain many properties as a medicine. Soursop plant parts, ranging from leaves, flowers, fruit, seeds, roots to the bark and roots can also be used as medicine and are able to inhibit bacterial growth, a study has been carried out on the inhibition zone of soursop leaves on eschericia coli bacterial growth. Antibiotic compound (amoxicillin) can effectively inhibit bacterial growth by forming an inhibition zone in each treatment both by well diffusion and paper disk and which produces the largest average inhibition zones of 25% and 6.25% (balanced). The results showed that soursop leaf extract (annona muricata linn) had an inhibitory effect on the growth of e.coli bacteria, but not the highest among the positive controls. The higher the concentration of soursop leaf juice, the diameter of the inhibition of the growth of e. coli bacteria will also increase. The results showed that soursop leaf extract was able to inhibit the growth of escherichia coli bacteria, but the inhibition zone formed was less than that of amoxicillin as a positive control.
