The benefits of ginger as a medicinal plant are certainly a lot to treat various types of diseases. In addition, ginger also has useful ingredients to meet the health needs of the body. Ginger rhizome in general has chemical content, namely a group of bioactive compounds that are thought to have antibacterial activity such as essential oils, flavonoids, phenols and terpenoids which can inhibit bacteria. The purpose of this study was to determine the inhibition of ginger extract on the growth of Escherichia coli bacteria. This research was conducted at the integrated laboratory and halal center at the Islamic University of Malang, on June 21, 2023. The research method used was experimental well diffusion and paper disks. The results showed that there was no inhibition zone for e.coli bacteria.
