Soursop (Annona muricata L.) is a herbal plant that is beneficial to health, one of which is used as an antimicrobial. Antimicrobial compounds are compounds that can inhibit microbial growth or kill microbes. This study aims to determine whether or not there is antibacterial potential of an antimicrobial compound such as antibiotics. This study used well-diffusion and paper-disk diffusion methods with a Posttest Only Control Group Design to determine the effectiveness of soursop extract as an antibacterial from soursop on the growth of escherichia coli bacteria. The sample used is galangal rhizome. In the diffusion method, it is used to measure the diameter of the clear zone which is an indication of the presence of a response to inhibition of bacterial growth by an antibacterial compound in the extract. The results of the study were clear areas around the wells whose diameters were measured with a ruler. In the soursop leaf extract, the inhibition zone could not be observed because the concentration of the soursop leaf extract was too concentrated. Data collected during this study in the microbiology laboratory constituted primary data, namely testing the effectiveness of soursop extract as an antibacterial against Escherichia coli bacteria. The tools used in this study were tweezers, ose needles, bunsen spirits, calipers, cotton sticks, stirring rods, ovens, filters, flaskerlenmeyer, measuring cups, rotary evaporators, incubators, petri dishes, hotplates, erlenmeyer, measuring cups, test tubes , test tube rack, vortex, mixer, micropipette, label paper, ruler, laminar air flow. The materials used were soursop extract, Eschericia coli bacteria culture, Nutrient Broth (NB), Nutrient Agar (NA), 96% ethanol, sterile disc paper and amoxicillin antibiotics, sterile aquadest, pure culture of test bacteria in media NB aged 24 hours, 70% alcohol
