Abstract

The directive speech act strategies of students during Community Service (KKN) impact the affective tone of the students. The effort to 'maintain face', which correlates with the basic needs of the students, namely love and self-esteem, should be a consideration for students so that the activities run effectively and pleasantly. The process faced during speaking occurs during the discussion activities of KKN students in Dukuhmaja village. The author conducts research on how the realization of polite directive forms, techniques, and strategies of KKN students in Dukuhmaja village, Songgom district, Brebes regency, is measured by the scale and degree of politeness. In this study, the researcher takes data from KKN students in Dukuhmaja village, Songgom district, Brebes regency, consisting of 10 students from various regions, among which there are 4 (four) languages: Brebes language, Tegal language, Sundanese language, and Pemalang.
