Abstract

Financial literacy is an essential life skill that should be introduced from an early age to enable children to manage their finances wisely. Low levels of financial literacy lead to consumptive behavior and debt dependency. Based on interviews with the Head of Badak Village, many families are trapped in consumptive loans through microfinance institutions such as bank mekar. This condition occurs due to a lack of understanding of money management, resulting in expenditures being directed more toward wants rather than needs. Therefore, early financial education through simple and contextual strategies is necessary. This program aims to improve students’ financial literacy by implementing the 3-Post Wallet method, which divides money into three categories: savings, needs, and wants. The activity was conducted on July 26 and August 2, 2025, at SDN 03 Badak, involving 30 sixth-grade students. The methods used included interactive lectures, group discussions, and practical simulations of money allocation using the 3-Post Wallet. The results showed a significant increase in students’ understanding of the differences between needs and wants, their ability to manage pocket money, and their motivation to save. This program proved effective in developing positive financial management habits from an early age.
