The The low proficiency in literacy and numeracy skills among elementary school students, particularly in rural areas, remains a challenge in improving the quality of education. The community service program “Cheerful Literacy and Numeracy: Speed Calculation and Poetry Reading Competition” aimed to enhance students’ quick calculation skills and creative literacy through a participatory learning approach combined with the principles of Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD). The activity was conducted on July 19, 2025, at SD Negeri 02 Gunung Jaya, involving 31 fifth-grade students with support from teachers and the school administration. The program stages included problem identification, participatory planning, quick calculation training, poetry reading competition, and evaluation. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed a 19% improvement in calculation speed and accuracy, and 83.8% of students were able to recite poetry with appropriate intonation, articulation, and expression. The program also fostered students’ self-confidence, active participation, and learning enthusiasm. This activity proved effective as a creative and integrative learning model that can be replicated in other elementary schools, with strong potential for sustainability through collaboration between universities, schools, and local communities.
