Abstract

Students of the DIII Pharmacy Study Program at Harapan Bersama Polytechnic in carrying out their studies have the obligation to write a written work as their final assignment. Among the students who conducted research, there were those who used qualitative research with the instruments used being observation checklists and interview guides, the writing of which contained spelling errors and inappropriate word choice. The aim of this research is to analyze language errors used in observation checklists and student research interview guidelines. This research method uses a qualitative method with the research object being an observation checklist sheet and interview guide, the data is in the form of text with the data analysis used is content analysis. The research stages begin with preparation, research implementation, and conclusions from the analysis of existing data. The results of the research found errors in the Indonesian language in the form of errors in writing italics, capital letters, punctuation errors, writing titles, absorption elements, writing foreign languages, and errors in word selection or ineffective sentences. The suggestion for this research is that social researchers who need observation instruments first study the applicable spelling.
